I have a really low credit score. What’s the best way for me to get an affordable loan for ..?

a car? I want a car that costs no more than 5,000 or 6,000
I want to get a loan for about that price…and don’t want to kill myself with payments either.
perhaps my credit union? I’m trying to get my interest as low as possible..but even if its higher, i’d like to build my credit…..[had alot of outstanding medical bills and one bad credit card]
My score is in the lower 600 range.

Any advice? or idea of what my payments would be most places?

Please don’t be rude… i asked this question earlier and got no help. I have been carless for a longtime due to medical problems and now i finally can buy one.

thanks

    Hello Ladybee!

First thing is…where did you get your score? If it was from one of those free sites advertised, pay it NO mind. You need to know what your FICO scores are, and you also need to know what is on your reports that is making your scores so low.

Do you have recent reports? From all 3?? If not, go here: http://www.annualcreditreport.com
That is the free site through the Federal Govt. DO NOT buy the scores. It will help you to clean up whatever bad things are posting first….then get the car loan. With higher scores & better rates!

Don’t pay for a credit repair service… Get advice free from the community section in the link below. This site is put out by Fair Isaac…the developer of the FICO scoring system. No advertising & awesome advice!

I think you are unfortunately going to get hit really hard on finance rates. Go to one of those used car lots that advertises “$500.00 down drive today” or “no credit, bad credit, no problem.

    So here are some figures

    Car Price 5500
    Down payment 0
    Trade in 0
Sales tax 6.75 % (thats the tax in my area)
Interest rate 20% (this is a fairly high rate – hopefully won’t be higher)
Payment term 48 months (how many months to pay back loan)
Monthly payment 178.86 (your payment … not bad huh?)

You can punch in your own numbers at this web site.

    Hope this helps!!!!!
